Job summary

Fountain Equipment Finance seeks a detail-oriented Loan Assistant to support our production team in commercial equipment financing across multiple states. You will assist lenders with loan applications, verify borrower documents, and coordinate with vendors to ensure accurate, timely closings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Two+ years in commercial lending, loan operations, or related banking experience preferred.
• Previous equipment finance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist lenders with preparing and processing commercial equipment loan applications.
• Collect and verify borrower documentation (financial statements, insurance, invoices).
• Order and review third-party reports (UCC searches, appraisals, lien filings).
• Ensure loan packages meet internal policy and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, title companies, and internal teams to facilitate closings.
• Track post-closing requirements (insurance verification, lien perfection, imaging).
• Maintain accurate loan files and loan tracking systems.
• Deliver exceptional service to internal partners and external clients.
• Support SmartBank's integrity, compliance, and relationship-driven service.
