Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, seeks an Equipment Engineer to own and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will drive uptime, troubleshoot complex systems, and collaborate across manufacturing, process, and sustainment teams.

You will apply data analytics, automation, and AI methods to elevate equipment performance, while leading maintenance and optimization projects to reduce costs and boost productivity.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related technical field; 2+ years semiconductor equipment experience, or 5+ years with Associate degree.
• Troubleshooting complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, chemical, optical, vacuum, RF, robotics, automation, software and firmware systems.
• Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and communicate findings.
• Experience coordinating equipment installations, upgrades, and facility activities.
• Proven ability to manage projects and drive improvements to completion.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and qualify assigned manufacturing equipment.
• Drive uptime, reliability, capability, and performance improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Define and improve preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Monitor equipment health and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with technicians, engineers, vendors, and operations.
• Provide technical expertise for system modifications and optimization initiatives.
• Develop and implement automation solutions to enhance productivity.
• Create and maintain maintenance procedures, training materials, and documentation.
• Communicate technical information effectively to teams and suppliers.
