Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative at our Rock Island location to assist customers with products and services. You will use U-Scan tech to manage rentals, move and hook up trucks, and inspect equipment, while learning through on-the-job training.

The position offers benefits and opportunities for advancement along with safety and equipment education. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include valid driver’s license and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and use U-Haul’s smartphone-based technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels.
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Fill propane (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment).
• Drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
