Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• Comfortability and previous experience holding and restraining horses.

Responsibilities

• Assist with induction and recovery of patients in preparation for and following surgery.
• Hold/restrain horses for pre-operative and post-operative examinations (i.e. x-rays, treatments, bone scans, euthanasia, emergency surgeries, etc.).
• Assist other personnel with patient handling.
• Assist with trailer loading and unloading of patients.
• Aid with animal care such as grooming prior to discharge and maintaining stock of feed, hay and straw.
• Follow infectious disease protocols and maintain hygiene in patient care areas.
