Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking an Overnight Emergency Equine Veterinary Technician/Assistant to support on-site hospital operations and deliver high‑quality care to our patients and clients.

The role places you with the Surgery Barn team on 10‑hour night shifts (10 PM–8 AM), four days a week, performing emergency triage, admissions, patient monitoring, nursing care, medication administration, and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older
• Prior experience with horses required (personal experience included)
• Licensure not required, but veterinary technician license or equine certifications are beneficial

Responsibilities

• Answering and dispatching emergency calls/client communication
• Assisting doctors to admit and triage emergency cases
• Assisting the team with emergency surgical operations as needed
• Performing directed patient care, monitoring, examinations, medication administration, and nursing duties
• Maintaining medical supplies, equipment and biosecurity
• Admitting, discharging, loading and unloading patients
