Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking an Overnight Emergency Equine Veterinary Assistant to join the team and support on-site hospital operations. The role focuses on providing dedicated veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients, with 10-hour night shifts four days a week (10 PM–8 AM).

Prior horses experience is preferred; licensure is not required but a benefit.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Prior experience with horses is preferred.
• No veterinary technician license is required, but it's a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Answering and dispatching emergency calls and client communication.
• Assisting doctors to admit and triage emergency cases.
• Assist with emergency surgical operations as needed.
• Provide patient nursing care, monitor status, administer medications, and maintain records.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and facility cleanliness/biosecurity.
• Admit, discharge, load and unload patients.
