Job summary

VRB is seeking a dedicated Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of an equine facility and related properties. You will supervise barn staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure safety and welfare of horses and dogs in outdoor environments.

The role requires hands-on leadership, 3–5 years in equine facility management, and strong software skills (BarnManager, MS Office).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, Agriculture, Business Management, or related field; certification is a plus.
• 3–5 years in equine facility management or related property management; hands-on horse experience required.
• Strong knowledge of horse behavior, nutrition, and health care.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and barn management software (e.g., BarnManager).
• Leadership and strong communication skills; able to lead a team and interact with clients.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility management of barn, stables, arenas, pastures, and infrastructure; coordinate repairs and inspections.
• Lead a team of barn staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations.
• Manage operating budget, expenses, and procure supplies; negotiate with vendors.
• Handle boarding contracts, lesson scheduling, event coordination, and client concerns.
• Implement safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk assessments.
• Maintain records of horse health, facility maintenance, financial transactions, and inventory; use scheduling/reporting software and access-control systems.
