Job summary

San Antonio Equine Hospital is expanding our surgical services, seeking an experienced equine anesthesia technician to help build and support a high-performing surgical team.

In this full-time role you will induce, monitor, and recover equine anesthesia, collaborate with surgeons and staff for smooth case flow, assist with diagnostics and treatments, maintain equipment and sterile technique, and contribute to ongoing service growth. Learn more at sanantonioequine.com.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in equine anesthesia is required; credentialed technicians preferred; experienced assistants considered.
• Calm, focused presence in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills both in and out of the OR.
• Strong horsemanship and safe handling of horses of all sizes and temperaments.
• Dependable, organized, and eager to contribute to a developing program.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover equine anesthesia safely and confidently.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons and surgical staff for efficient case flow.
• Assist with diagnostics and treatments within the hospital.
• Maintain equipment, uphold sterile technique, and support patient safety.
• Participate in continuous improvement as the surgery program grows.
