Job summary

The Omni Homestead Resort in Virginia seeks an experienced equestrian operations professional to provide specialized horse-care knowledge and operational support to elevate the resort's equestrian program. You will collaborate with the Stables Manager and Director of Recreation to implement improvements in horse care, facilities, guest experience, safety, and revenue opportunities.

This role supports the existing Equestrian team and does not replace the Stables Manager’s authority, requiring

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with horses and equestrian operations.
• Knowledge of horse care, grooming, feeding and stable management.
• Experience evaluating horses for temperament and rider suitability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assess current operation and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend enhancements to stables, paddocks, and equestrian facilities.
• Establish standards for horse care, stable procedures and presentation.
• Evaluate horses for temperament and suitability for different riders and activities.
• Contribute to long-term planning for horse population and replacement needs.
• Evaluate infrastructure like fencing, gates, and water systems and prioritize improvements.
• Develop procedures to assess guest riding ability and match riders with horses.
