Job summary

The Ford Field & River Club seeks an experienced leader to oversee all operations of the Equestrian Center, develop a multidiscipline riding program, and create events that attract both riders and non-riders. The role demands hands-on horse care and facility management at a luxury club level.

You will supervise training, safety, staffing, and collaboration with veterinary and farrier teams, while driving guest experiences and club marketing efforts related to equestrian activities.

Qualifications

  • College degree in equine science or equine business management or equivalent.
  • Certification as riding instructor in either English or Western discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing and training at a high-end facility.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and organizes equestrian activities, onsite events, clinics, and offsite events for the club.
  • Customizes riding programs to attract young riders and first-time adults.
  • Ride and instruct jumping lessons up to 2’6” and ranch dressage lessons; ensure rider safety.
  • Negotiate lease and purchase agreements for the club/members; oversee saddle fitting and tack needs.
  • Coordinate with veterinarians, farriers, and outside consultants to meet Ford’s standard of care.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff; manage trails, paddocks, and arena maintenance; enforce club policies.
  • Sell the equestrian Ford lifestyle; assist with tours and marketing materials; support events like Derby and Wild West parties.
