Job summary

San Bernardino County Department of Public Health is seeking a Public Health Epidemiologist to review epidemiological histories, synthesize health statistics, and identify disease trends. You will analyze large datasets, design data collection instruments, and conduct chart reviews with clinical staff support.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Epidemiology, Public Health, or Biostatistics and experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting communicable disease data.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or Biostatistics is preferred.
• Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting health or disease data is required or highly desirable.
• Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be evaluated for equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor epidemiological case histories and health statistics.
• Design instruments for gathering and analyzing disease or demographic data.
• Contribute to surveillance data dissemination and program evaluation.
• Perform data cleaning, extraction, and quality checks for large datasets.
• Interpret and report findings with public health implications.
• Prepare data visualizations for reports, dashboards, and mapping.
