Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Epidemiologist Data Scientist to support epidemiologic studies, surveillance programs, advanced analytics, and public health data modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will independently conduct analyses, interpret findings, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the development of data products that improve public health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in Epidemiology/Public Health/B biostatistics/Health Data Science, or MPH/MS with 3+ years experience.
• Experience conducting epidemiologic analyses on large-scale public health or healthcare datasets.
• Experience in SAS, R, Python, SQL, or comparable analytical tools.
• Experience interpreting and communicating epidemiologic findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience supporting surveillance, research, evaluation, or public health reporting initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct epidemiologic analyses using multiple health datasets (surveillance, clinical, claims, lab, surveys).
• Develop analysis plans, statistical methods documentation, analytic specifications, and technical reports.
• Perform descriptive, longitudinal, trend, multivariable, and other analyses.
• Translate findings into actionable insights for technical, operational, and executive audiences.
• Design and validate data quality rules, surveillance indicators, and performance measures.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and recurring data products using modern analytics tools.
• Support modernization and automation of analytic workflows and reporting processes.
• Contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, reports, presentations, and dissemination products.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Mentor junior staff and support quality review of epidemiologic deliverables.
