Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is seeking an Epic Principal Trainer to develop and deliver training for Epic users across the health system. You will design and maintain curricula, create eLearning modules, and collaborate with SMEs to ensure training aligns with clinical, operational, and technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or healthcare, or 8+ years of IT health‑care EHR experience.
• Principal Trainer Certification within 3 months of hire.
• Learning scripts / course design experience for LMS environments.
• Strong leadership, public speaking, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Epic training curriculum and materials for assigned modules.
• Develop eLearning modules and online learning tools with the eLearning team.
• Prepare training lessons, print materials, and set up training environments.
• Deliver classroom instruction and facilitate exercises with SMEs and other trainers.
• Provide ongoing trainee support after sessions and during rollout updates.
• Manage training projects with timelines and cross‑department coordination.
• Collaborate with Application Analysts, SMEs, and leaders to reflect current workflows.
• Support system upgrades with refreshed training content and refresher sessions.
• Contribute to new policies and procedures required by automated systems.
