Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Solution Architect, Epic STARS, to design and optimize Epic-based solutions for Medicare Star Ratings, HEDIS, and NCQA quality measures. You will bridge clinical quality strategy with technical Epic builds across Healthy Planet and related modules.

The role requires deep Epic expertise, value-based care understanding, and strong collaboration with Quality, Population Health, and analytics teams to ensure accurate data feeds and compliant reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
5+ years of Epic experience, including Healthy Planet and related modules.
Experience supporting Medicare Star Ratings, HEDIS, and NCQA programs.
Strong understanding of value-based care and population health.
Epic certification(s) in Healthy Planet or Reporting Cadence preferred.
Experience translating clinical specs into technical build requirements.

Responsibilities

Architect and design Epic Healthy Planet, Reporting Workbench, Clarity/Caboodle, and SlicerDicer solutions to support Star Ratings, HEDIS, and NCQA tracking.
Translate quality measure specifications into functional Epic build requirements.
Design scalable data models and reporting frameworks for auditable measure calculation.
Own the end-to-end technical roadmap for Epic STARS builds.
Partner with Quality, Population Health, ACO, and clinical leadership to align needs.
Serve as the primary technical liaison between clinical quality teams and Epic development.
Collaborate with data analytics to ensure accurate data feeds for CMS submissions.
Present architectural recommendations and risk assessments to senior leadership.
Lead Epic build activities, including registries and dashboards.
Evaluate workflows for gaps and optimize to improve Star performance.
Ensure interoperability with external quality reporting platforms using standards.
Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of quality logic.
Maintain documentation for audit readiness and governance.
Stay current on CMS/HEDIS changes and mentor junior staff.
