Job summary

Kootenai Health seeks a Cogito Business Analyst to develop advanced analytics that support clinical, operational, and financial decisions. The role emphasizes Epic reporting tools, Power BI, and data modeling across IT, clinical, and administrative stakeholders.

You will design dashboards, translate complex requirements into scalable data products, and collaborate with SMEs to deliver high-impact insights while maintaining data governance and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent education/experience required
• Minimum 3 years of analytics experience required
• Epic certification or accreditation in one or more Epic modules required
• Certification to be initiated and completed within 3 months of Epic training; must remain current
• Epic certifications in Data Courier Badge, Caboodle, Cogito tools preferred
• Minimum 2 years in a hospital/clinic setting preferred
• Public and internal reporting certifications may be required

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops dashboards and reports using Power BI and Epic tools like Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and Radar
• Translates business needs into scalable data models and visualizations
• Collaborates with SMEs and project teams to identify report needs and manage change requests
• Maintains Cogito (SlicerDicer) data models and metadata aligned with governance
• Integrates Epic and non-Epic data sources (SQL Server, HRIS, Midas) for enterprise analytics
• Delivers end-user training and supports reporting deployments and upgrades
• Participates in system testing, upgrades, and optimization of reporting environments
• Ensures data integrity and security; supports QA and governance standards
