The University of Texas at Austin's Dell Medical School seeks an IT Training Manager for Epic & Clinical Systems to lead the training function, shape strategy, and supervise staff, ensuring effective adoption of Epic/EHR products and related digital tools across clinical and operational teams.

The role partners with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to align curricula with workflows, drive onboarding, go‑live readiness, and continuous education during system implementations and upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Education, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare technology training, Epic, EHR education, healthcare IT, informatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of people leadership, supervisory, project leadership, or management experience.
  • Experience leading educational initiatives, system implementations, organizational change, or user adoption programs.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows and information system applications supporting multi‑specialty clinic operations, ambulatory surgery centers, research, and higher education.
  • Experience developing training strategy, curriculum, competency programs, and instructional materials.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while leading cross‑functional teams and enterprise initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, implementation, and evaluation of enterprise training programs
  • Establish training priorities, standards, and performance expectations
  • Balance operational demands, project timelines, and resource constraints
  • Develop training strategy and curriculum aligned with Epic workflows
  • Oversee onboarding education programs for new employees and providers
  • Ensure training supports system implementations, upgrades, and Go‑Live readiness
