Job description

Under limited supervision, the ECSA II is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and managing systems that provide the supporting infrastructure for the EPIC electronic health record application. The ECSA II is responsible for build and maintenance of all required application servers, web servers, proxy servers and print servers for the EPIC environment. The ECSA II also provides guidance to the ECSA I, and assists the ECSA I in providing support to EPIC application analysts. May also be asked to assist with the build and configuration of the Cache server and environment on a limited basis.

Education

Associate degree preferred in related field or equivalent experience.

Experience

5-7 years' progressive experience, in design and deployment of a clinical information system preferred. Experience with vSphere Hypervisor, or a similar Hypervisor and Microsoft Windows server OS platforms.

  • Carefully monitor backup logs for completeness and efficiency
  • Perform full and partial test restores regularly

Licensures, Certifications

EPIC certification within 6 months; Windows Server certification, VMWare certification or Citrix certification preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, and manage a project plan.
  • Probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community, which directly influences how the system will be built.
  • Maintain regular communication with EPIC representatives.
  • Work with EPIC representative(s) and the organization's business community and end-users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with EPIC software.
  • Investigate end-users' preference while making build decisions.
  • Analyze business operations as they relate to build decisions.
  • Prioritize and implement requested changes to the system. Assists with monthly maintenance program.
  • Analyze new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used.
  • Populate databases during the initial system build with assistance from EPIC.
  • Review software, coordinate software updates and changes as well as review and test each new release.
  • Collect information regarding potential system enhancement needs and prepare details of specifications as needed.
  • Analyze data conversion needs.
  • Ensure that data coming across an interface into an EPIC application meets the business need.
  • Develop and document project team procedures for implementing system changes and other tasks.
  • Set standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications using single EPIC Style Guide for Master File Naming and Numbering Conventions.
  • Establish change control processes and procedures for the system.
  • Participate in training and work with end-users. Troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users.
  • Work with report writers to ensure that the application has the necessary reports. Refer to the Ancillary Reporting Team Members section for information about how application coordinators/analysts work with core reporting team.

Pay Range

$77,201.00 - $138,961.82

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
