Summary
Job Summary
The IS Application Systems Administrator II is responsible for implementing and maintaining corporate applications, supporting business strategies. This role involves evaluating, architecting, implementing, and administering IS policies and systems.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
Application Systems Design
- Participate in designing and maintaining server-side applications including Microsoft environment, enterprise applications, custom applications, data backup systems, and cloud services.
- Provide advanced knowledge of application systems hardware/software technology and consult on projects.
- Advise IS teams on best practices for application and process design.
- Maintain the enterprise application portfolio and inventory.
Application Systems Administration and Operations
- Handle tickets and service requests for server activities.
- Maintain application and server software, including updates and upgrades.
- Analyze business needs, research, and recommend solutions with risk mitigation.
- Configure and customize application systems.
- Generate and review performance reports and event logs, making adjustments as needed.
- Document system designs and operations.
- Monitor data transmission quality.
- Configure user access to applications.
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
Standards and Policy Administration
- Propose requirements for application selection and deployment.
- Review existing systems for compliance and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain support policies and procedures.
- Manage application/database security policies.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Vendor Coordination and Relations
- Maintain relationships with external partners and vendors.
- Research products and vendors, and present recommendations.
- Manage service contracts, licensing, and SLAs.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Align work with organizational mission, vision, and values.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Meet business goals and adhere to policies.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
Experience and Education
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Application and Administration support.
- Experience with scripting, automation, Cloud services, Windows, ITIL, project management, systems integration, and data flow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.
- Microsoft certifications, experience with Windows FTP, Tableau, SQL, SAS, PowerBI, Azure FTP, scripting FTP, Windows Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of enterprise applications, data integration, claims processing, EHR technologies, document management, scripting, compute environments, cloud technologies, troubleshooting, and application design.
- Strong communication, documentation, project management, vendor management, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under stress, learn quickly, and collaborate effectively.
