Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Information Services (HCIS) is seeking an Application Developer to analyze workflows, design, implement, and support Epic Cadence and Referrals applications. This role collaborates with project management, stakeholders, vendors, and end users to deliver reliable system solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance workflow processes.
• 3–5 years of experience for an Application Developer role.
• Driver's license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Experience contributing to an integrated information system implementation cycle (design, workflow analysis, build, training, testing, support).
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Research system solutions and analyze workflows to develop application designs.
• Configure and customize Epic Applications and review builds for efficiency and correctness.
• Develop and maintain testing scripts; perform unit and integrated testing during upgrades.
• Document system design and build; participate in 24x7 on-call rotations as needed.
• Travel to customer sites to support implementation, upgrades, and training.
