Job summary

Hummingbird is seeking an Epic Analyst - Ambulatory to support the EpicCare Ambulatory application for a healthcare customer. You will diagnose issues, build and test changes, and guide upgrades, turning business needs into reliable, well-documented solutions.

This role is remote within the United States, aligned to Pacific time hours, and requires Active Epic Ambulatory certification plus 2+ years of ambulatory workflow experience. A collaborative team environment and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience delivering scoped analyst work focusing on problem solving, requirements gathering, testing, and solution implementation, ideally within Epic.
  • Active Epic Ambulatory certification required at time of hire.
  • Well-rounded experience across ambulatory workflows, with ability to tackle a range of work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to investigate root causes, synthesize findings.
  • Proficiency documenting requirements, test results, and system changes clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer-service mindset and comfort working as a trusted vendor partner to clinics.
  • Autonomy, reliability, and initiative to hit the ground running and work independently.
  • On-call support during scheduled times, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose reported issues by analyzing workflows and data, identifying root causes, and understanding underlying business needs.
  • Gather and document requirements through stakeholder conversations, translating needs into clear, testable requirements.
  • Build, test, and validate changes to EpicCare Ambulatory, including orders, SmartTools, rules, and Nova notes.
  • Execute changes through defined processes to maintain compliance and auditability.
  • Contribute to twice-yearly Epic upgrades, supporting testing, validation, and go-live coordination.
  • Take on optimization and project work as prioritized by the customer.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand context and provide timely progress updates.
  • Deliver work in line with SLAs and quality standards, supporting core client delivery activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tools and processes and contribute to team knowledge.
