Job summary

On-Board Engineering seeks a Civil Structural Engineer in Richmond, VA, to support multidisciplinary EPCM projects. You will lead structural design efforts, review calculations, and coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and process teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with codes.

The role requires 5–8+ years in structural/civil engineering, knowledge of IBC/ASCE/ACI/AISC, and proficiency with STAAD/SAP2000/ETABS. Hybrid work setup and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 5–8+ years of relevant structural/civil experience, EPCM/consulting preferred.
• Knowledge of IBC/ASCE/ACI/AISC codes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support structural and civil design for EPCM projects.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Serve as Engineer of Record where applicable.
• Manage project deliverables, schedules, and budgets with PMs.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and construction support.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
• Support business development and proposals when required.
