Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited in Oklahoma is seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to lead substation and transmission projects from award through commissioning and closeout. You will coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, safety, schedules, and budget to meet contractual requirements and customer expectations.

The role requires 7–10 years in utility infrastructure project management, plus 5+ years managing EPC substation programs.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of project management experience in utility infrastructure construction.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing EPC substation projects.
• Experience delivering electrical utility projects with values from $5M to $100M+.
• Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead EPC substation projects from conceptual development through commissioning and turnover.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans.
• Establish project objectives, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Provide leadership to Project Engineers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, Schedulers, and Project Controls personnel.
• Foster a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Review contract documents, scope requirements, and commercial terms.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with internal and external design teams.
• Monitor procurement activities for critical equipment (power transformers, circuit breakers, protection & control panels, relay systems).
• Support field operations and construction management teams.
• Ensure work meets design, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate site logistics, outage planning, and subcontractor activities.
• Prepare weekly/monthly project status reports and communicate safety, financials, schedule, risks.
