Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Houston, TX seeks an Assistant Construction Manager to support the Project Manager and EPC leadership across diverse projects including aviation, commercial, energy and water sectors. You will help manage safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts and field activities on EPC ventures.

You will interface with clients, coordinate plans and documents, and assist in risk reviews, procurements and turnover activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering or related field; 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong documentation and scheduling skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with project controls, cost control, and subcontract management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety programs and manage Safety & Health performance for project team members and contractors.
• Collaborate with Project Management to build client relationships and interface on proposals and project items.
• Assist in developing risk reviews with the Project Management team and coordinate with Legal as required.
• Coordinate Project Execution Plan, QA Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, and Procurement Plan.
• Contribute to negotiation and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Support site mobilization/demobilization planning with Construction Manager or Site Manager.
• Support permits acquisition and pre-qualification efforts for bidders.
• Prepare RFPs, define scope of work, and assist in contract document creation for subcontractor selection.
