Job summary

MYR Energy Services Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager (EPC) to oversee electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects from bid to closeout. The role coordinates third-party engineers, reviews designs, and supports procurement and construction to ensure timely final deliverables.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in EPC environments, a PE license is preferred, and a strong ability to manage cross-functional teams across multiple sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of design, engineering, or project management experience in electrical transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
• Experience leading project teams or consultants.
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) preferred.
• Construction/EPC project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare proposals for EPC electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects.
• Define and establish project scope for alignment with client and third party consultants.
• Manage and coordinate detailed design activities with engineering subcontractors and oversee related deliverables throughout the design lifecycle from bidding to as-builts.
• Coordinate project procurement activities with engineering subcontractors and the Procurement Manager, including bidding, specifications, and contracting.
• Work with material vendors to expedite procurement information and deliverables, or delegate these tasks to the Procurement Manager as needed.
• Define and prepare the project’s engineering standards, specifications, and procurement requirements.
• Plan and coordinate daily engineering subcontractor and procurement activities with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager.
• Support negotiations with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
