Role Description

The EP Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Overland Park, KS, responsible for supporting electrophysiology (EP) procedures and cardiac rhythm management services. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing procedure rooms, setting up and operating EP lab equipment, and assisting physicians and clinical teams during diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology procedures. The role involves monitoring patients’ cardiac rhythms, documenting procedure details, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols. The EP Technologist collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes, provides patient education related to procedures, and participates in quality improvement and equipment maintenance activities.

Qualifications
  • Technical and clinical skills: Proficiency in operating EP lab equipment and cardiac monitoring systems; understanding of cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmias, and rhythm management procedures.
  • Patient care and safety: Ability to monitor patient status, respond to changes in condition, and follow established safety, infection control, and emergency protocols.
  • Documentation and communication: Skill in accurate clinical documentation, reporting findings, and communicating clearly with physicians, nurses, and patients.
  • Teamwork and professionalism: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, maintain professionalism under pressure, and support a patient-centered environment.
  • Education and credentials: Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technologist, radiologic technologist, or related allied health program; relevant certification (e.g., RCES, RCIS, or ARRT) preferred; current BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained within organizational timelines.
  • Experience: Prior experience in an EP lab, cath lab, or cardiac care setting strongly preferred; familiarity with hospital-based workflows and electronic health records beneficial.
  • Additional qualifications: Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning and equipment setup.
