San Mateo County Community College District seeks an experienced EOPS Counselor (exempt adjunct) to provide counseling services to EOPS students on/off campus, supporting academic, vocational, career, and holistic development.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, helping students develop SEPs, coordinate with community agencies, and contribute to program reviews and student learning outcomes; teaching counseling and personal development courses and facilitating workshops.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, or the equivalent.
• EOPS counselors hired after Oct 24, 1987 must have additional coursework or practicum as specified.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling services to EOPS students, including academic, vocational, career, and holistic counseling on/off campus
• Provide crisis intervention counseling as needed to assist students facing issues that could interfere with their academic success
• Assist students in clarifying educational goals, developing SEPs, and selecting courses
• Establish and maintain connections with college programs and community agencies that would benefit EOPS students
• Assist in developing and preparing EOPS Program Review and Student Learning Outcomes and Service Area Outcomes
• Develop and teach Counseling/Career and Personal Development courses
• Develop and facilitate student success/faculty development workshops
• Perform other counseling-related duties as assigned
