Job summary

California State University San Marcos is seeking an EOP Retention Counselor & Coordinator to support at-risk students through personal, academic and financial counseling, and to design retention programming aligned with campus resources.

You will collaborate across Recruitment, Financial Aid, and Undergraduate Studies, lead onboarding for first-year and transfer students, coordinate events, mentoring, and outreach, and contribute to a culture of care and equity on campus.

Qualifications

• Experience in advising or counseling in higher education is preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement retention programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal, academic, financial, and success counseling to EOP students.
• Develop and implement retention strategies and programming for at-risk students.
• Coordinate events and programming to support belonging and campus engagement.
• Collaborate with Recruitment, Outreach, Financial Aid, and Undergraduate Studies.
• mentor and advise students and support faculty/staff on campus.
