San José-Evergreen Community College District seeks a Counselor for EOPS/CARE to provide counseling, academic planning, and crisis support to students in the EOPS/CARE program at San Jose City College. The role includes development of educational plans, course placement guidance, and transfer advising, with possible day and evening shifts.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Counseling or equivalent, with bilingual ability in English and Spanish, and experience serving diverse student

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling or related field or equivalent.
• Two years of occupational experience serving ethnic minorities or disadvantaged groups.
• Equivalency route available with district requirements.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish or Vietnamese.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, career, personal and crisis counseling for EOPS/CARE students.
• Develop educational plans and assist with course placement and transfer coursework.
• Assist with enrollment, follow-up, and coordination with support services for CARE students.
• Collaborate with campus departments to deliver EOPS/CARE services.
