Job summary

The City University of New York's Bronx Educational Opportunity Center seeks an EOC Academic Advisor to develop and administer initiatives that increase HSE and college awareness, and to promote student persistence and retention.

You will provide individual and group academic advising, maintain student records, analyze data for program improvement, and present outcomes at meetings; experience in higher education counseling and knowledge of admissions and aid in NY metro area preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in higher education counseling, advisement or related field desirable.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.
• Knowledge of college admissions and financial aid in NY metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in clarifying values and educational options; provide academic and personal support.
• Provide effective referrals to other support services.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and maintain student records.
• May specialize in advising specific programs or student groups.
