Job summary

Amentum seeks a Technical Project Lead to support our customer’s R&D efforts in evaluating and advancing EO/IR systems across maritime, airborne, and expeditionary platforms.

You will bridge engineering with program management, defining technical plans, schedules, and milestones while coordinating with multiple teams to ensure on-time, within-budget execution of complex hardware developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience in development environments.
• Experience with sensor or imaging systems, EO/IR hardware preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bridge engineering and program management to align technical execution with plans.
• Create technical schedules, manage milestones and customer requirements.
• Provide data-driven analysis on schedule realism, risks, and execution strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate scope into actionable insights.
• Identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Track engineering progress against plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Ensure engineering efforts are properly scoped, sequenced, and resourced.
• Coordinate Technical Interchange Meetings to resolve issues.
• Support planning and execution of tests, integration, and field activities.
• Apply understanding of EO/IR domains to evaluate execution plans.
