Job summary

Raytheon in Aurora, CO is seeking a Systems Engineer II – EO/IR Processing to design, develop, prototype, integrate, test, and assess RF and EO/IR signal processing algorithms. You will extract and process sensor data for calibration, noise reduction, detection, acquisition, tracking, classification, and sensor fusion.

Work with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative signal processing solutions that enhance system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying signal processing techniques in EO/IR, RF, sonar, or acoustic domains.
• Experience programming in C/C++ or object-oriented languages (C#, Java).
• Experience supporting engineering analysis, algorithm development, integration, testing, or performance assessment.
• Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced signal processing techniques to support missile systems programs.
• Develop, modify, and use simulations for design, prototyping, integration and testing of signal processing algorithms.
• Support lab activities to test and validate sensor models and algorithm performance.
• Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and test engineering to integrate algorithms into hardware.
• Design, implement, analyze and optimize EO/IR and RF signal processing algorithms.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-disciplinary meetings to communicate solutions.
• Support system integration, verification, validation and performance assessments throughout the product lifecycle.
