Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or related field with relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Python and common scientific libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-image, statsmodels, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly, etc.
• Exposure to machine learning (ML) or statistical data analysis methods.
• Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn EO/IR-specific evaluation techniques.
• Interest in EO/IR systems and image-based detection and classification.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written and verbal formats within a cross-disciplinary team.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of engineers and scientists to develop Python-based analysis scripts that facilitate qualitative and quantitative analysis of EO/IR sensor systems and generate clear, well-structured data products.
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support program objectives and develop clear visualizations that communicate key findings.
• Assist with data collections and test events including pre-test planning, on-site test support, and post-test data cleaning, validation, and organization.
• Implement industry-standard and custom metrics to evaluate EO/IR system and algorithm performance.
• Document analysis methodologies, processes, and findings.
• Support the development and validation of synthetic EO/IR data generation capabilities by defining analysis needs and comparing synthetic outputs to real-world sensor data.
