Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Test Engineer to support our lunar program under the Lunar Permanence unit. You will lead environmental test campaigns, work on development and flight hardware, and ensure safety and data integrity throughout testing.

This role demands collaboration with engineers across disciplines and hands-on leadership during test execution. You will apply your expertise in thermal vacuum, acoustic, modal, and shock testing to deliver reliable spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • 2+ years of test campaign experience.
  • Experience in thermal vacuum, acoustic, modal, or shock testing.
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple test campaigns.
  • Commitment to inclusion and safety in aerospace testing.
  • Fundamentals of design and interface definition.
  • Proficiency with Creo Pro/E and 3D CAD drawing creation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute an entire environmental test campaign from planning to data collection.
  • Participate in assembly and test of development and flight hardware, including data reduction and analysis.
  • Identify and assist in the design of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE).
  • Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, and coordinate with internal customers.
  • Perform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigations.
  • Troubleshoot issues during testing and manage procedural redlines.
  • Communicate with Responsible Engineers and leadership during test planning and execution.
  • Participate in test readiness reviews and post-test reviews.
  • Coordinate test crews and configurations for testing.
  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
