Job summary

MPS Group, Inc. seeks Environmental Technicians to join the team at the Volvo Car Factory in Ridgeville, SC. You will handle and process production by-product waste, including solid, recyclable, and hazardous/non-hazardous materials, and ensure proper disposal and documentation.

Work is 1st shift, Monday–Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. Responsibilities include waste collection, loading, inspections, spill response, and maintaining waste records while following all safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year experience in waste management.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash, recyclables, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to off-site destination facilities.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
• Assist supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
• Document and inform Project Manager of any contamination in plant recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
• Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks.
• Operate Burden carriers.
• Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.
• Sort and bale recyclable material.
