MPS Group, Inc. in Dearborn, MI, is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at the Ford Rouge Complex. The role focuses on handling solid and hazardous waste, ensuring safety and EPA compliance, and maintaining documentation and waste inventories.

The position requires at least one year of waste management experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass background and drug tests. Forklift experience is preferred for daily waste handling tasks.

• Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal, and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport them to disposal containers or storage rooms.
• Segregate, sort, and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with EPA requirements.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfills, recycling centers, and other disposal sites.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the 90-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, and labeling drums.
• Assist the supervisor in responding to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids, and containerizing cleaned-up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist the Resource Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick-up, and waste organization.
• Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during inspections.
• Inventory and inspect waste spill kits.
• Document and inform the Resource Manager of any contamination in the plant’s recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain and complete necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections, and other required activities.
• Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.
• Operate a burden carrier.
• Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Shift Details

Shift: B Shift

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 6:00 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.

Responsibilities And Job Duties
