Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks an Environmental Studies Business Line Leader to drive strategic growth, financial performance, and market positioning across national programs. You will align with the Technical Service Leader to deliver environmental planning, NEPA compliance, permitting, and project development, while guiding a broad team.

This role leads major pursuits, champions new offerings and digital workflows, mentors leaders, and partners with regional offices to ensure efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program and 17 years applicable experience required.
• Experience in environmental consulting, planning, permitting, or infrastructure development with business development and leadership success preferred.
• Experience on construction project sites or in program management across aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, transmission & distribution, or water preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work overtime on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth, financial performance, and market positioning for the Environmental Studies Business Line.
• Develop annual business plans and improve delivery efficiency through digital and AI-enabled workflows.
• Lead major pursuits and capture planning efforts for national markets.
• Collaborate with regional offices to forecast workforce demand and secure resources.
• Mentor future business leaders and drive a One-Team culture across the organization.
