Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental management across Civil, Solar, Wind and Transmission projects in North America. You will develop site plans, review submittals, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead training while coordinating with consultants and regulators.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years of experience, and ability to travel up to 50% with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
• Minimum of four years related experience.
• Experience with erosion prevention, storm water plans, spill prevention, wetlands, or endangered species.
• Strong understanding of Federal, State, Provincial and local laws, policies and procedures.
• Self-directed, organized, collaborative and a team player.
• Ability to interact with consultants and governmental agencies.
• Proficient with PC, tablets and common software: Excel, MS Word.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Implement environmental program for construction sites and ensure compliance.
• Develop site-specific environmental plans and activities.
• Review environmental submittals and attend meetings.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Develop and lead environmental orientation and training programs.
• Lead onsite environmental management practices.
• Monitor mitigation measures and conduct site inspections.
• Collaborate with customers on regulatory reporting and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of environmental issues and applicable standards.
• Interface with environmental personnel and regulators.
• Assist in developing company-wide Environmental Management programs.
