Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental management across Civil, Solar, Wind and HV transmission projects in North America. You will review environmental documentation, advise on environmental matters, and implement site-specific environmental plans.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field, 4+ years of experience, and the ability to travel up to 50%. Proficiency with common software and strong regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
• Minimum of four years related experience.
• Experience with erosion prevention, storm water plans, spill prevention, wetlands or endangered species is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Federal, State, and local environmental laws and regulations.
• Organized, self-directed, and collaborative team player.
• Ability to interact with consultants and governmental agencies.
• Proficient with PC and standard software (Excel, Word).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Implement the environmental program for project sites and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Develop site-specific environmental plans and activities.
• Review environmental submittals and attend preconstruction meetings.
• Lead environmental orientation and training programs.
• Coordinate with customers on regulatory reporting and documentation.
• Interface with environmental personnel, consultants, and regulatory reps.
