Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience in environmental protection, regulation, public health, food safety, physical/natural sciences, agriculture, or engineering.
• OR six months of experience as an Environmental Specialist I or higher with the State of Florida.
• OR bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Class E Driver License required.
• Must obtain Boating Safety Education Identification Card within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor water quality for shellfish management and water classification programs.
• Collect environmental samples as part of regulatory and monitoring activities.
• Operate boats and field equipment to conduct surveys and data collection.
• Conduct shoreline surveys and document findings.
• Prepare technical reports to support program objectives.
