Job summary

The Christ Hospital Environmental Services Tech II will maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and appealing environment for patients, visitors, and staff, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and consistent adherence to department procedures. Knowledge of chemicals and proper handling, experience with autoclaves and bio trash, and commitment to confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years' experience including floor care required.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
• Basic healthcare housekeeping customer service skills required.
• Use of floor equipment as defined in duties and responsibilities required.
• Knowledge of computers preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Always promotes patient safety.
• Able to clean patient rooms and discharges as required.
• Is knowledgeable of all ESI chemicals and procedures.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
• Routine floor maintenance and operation of floor machines.
• Follows safety protocols to protect self and others.
• Floor stripping and refinishing prep and application of finishes.
• Carpet spotting and cleaning with correct chemicals.
• Trash hauling and disposal following procedures.
• Confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy.
• Basic computer use for MS Office/email.
• Other tasks as required including meeting set-ups and recycling.
