Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Service Worker I to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing cleaning, floor care, and waste management tasks in assigned areas.

The role upholds high hygiene standards while adhering to infection control and regulatory protocols to support patient, staff, and visitor well-being. The position is part-time with a day schedule, located at 1499 Fair Rd, Statesboro, GA.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years cleaning or environmental service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment and products.
• Understanding of infection control and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift or move objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas including rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms and elevators.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and dusts floors, furniture and equipment.
• Performs maintenance of floors and surfaces per department procedures.
• Washes walls, ceilings, windows and other surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
• Restocks supplies and reports shortages to ensure availability.
• Handles trash and biohazardous materials safely per safety protocols.
