Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to keep hospital facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include floor care, waste removal, linen handling, and spill cleanup in accordance with infection control standards. Applicants should have 1–3 years in environmental services or related fields; CHEST/CHESP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste in compliance with infection control standards.
• Familiarity with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and proper usage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of waste per hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Handle soiled linens and replace with clean bags; ensure proper containment and storage.
• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas per infection control standards.
• Respond to spills and perform contamination cleanups with proper disinfection.
