Job summary

Bedford Care Centers in Mississippi is seeking a facilities supervisor to oversee Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry operations. You will manage staffing, order supplies, monitor inventory, and direct daily work while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Communicate respectfully with Residents, families, employees and others. The role requires hands-on maintenance knowledge across carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and related operations in a long-term care

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to obtain required certifications.
  • Experience supervising Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry in a long-term care facility.
  • Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Must be physically able to perform duties including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, electronics, and related maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Learns and maintains familiarity with Evacuation Plan, Disaster Plan, Fire Safety Policies and assists with Orientation, training and In-services of all employees.
  • Complies with dress code and presents a neat, clean appearance at all times with Name Badge.
  • Immediately ensures liquids on floor are cleaned and/or guards area while someone notifies Housekeeping.
  • Provides Safety Orientation and training for all personnel, Department-specific training for Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry staff and assists with any In-Services as requested.
  • Supervises Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry Personnel, evaluates performance, recommends disciplinary action to Administrator as needed.
  • Conducts walking rounds daily to ensure work is being completed under your responsibilities.
  • Maintains necessary inventory by ordering, receiving and checking in related supplies and equipment; safely stores and organizes equipment and supplies.
  • Co Connets with the Administrator regarding work schedules and who serves as interim Supervisor(s) for Environmental Departments in your absence.
  • Directs and assists with periodic cleaning and sanitizing of wheelchairs and other equipment as scheduled and/or as needed.
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars as directed by Administrator, and/or as needed to acquire and maintain any needed Certification and to maintain awareness of industry trends and developments.
  • Assists Social Services and Activity Department regarding holiday and other special activities.
  • Ensures and maintains the safe operation and delivery system of the gas, water, electric, lighting, heating, air conditioning, sewage disposal and fire alarm system and inspects each of these regularly with documentation.

Prefer at least high school or GED; experience in related supervisory position preferred; must be able to obtain any required certificates; must be in good physical condition, able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions at a level necessary to accomplish job duties; must have experience with carpentry, plumbing, electricity, heating, air conditioning, electronics, housekeeping and laundry operations in a long term care facility; must pass drug screens and have satisfactory Criminal History Background Check
