MedStar Health is seeking a Manager of Environmental Services to lead custodial operations in Sacramento. The Manager will ensure compliance with health care quality standards and manage a team dedicated to providing a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and significant experience in hospitality and environmental services, with a focus on leadership and regulatory standards.
The Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for managing custodial operations ensuring staff compliance with health care quality and safety standards, and established processes and procedures. As part of the EVS Leadership team, the Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing custodial operations in order to provide a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount.
Manager receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect department. Spends the majority of the time (50% or more) achieving organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of subordinate staff. Establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with autonomy. Manages the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Ensures subordinate supervisors and professionals adhere to defined internal controls. Manages systems and procedures to protect departmental assets.
