The Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for managing custodial operations, ensuring staff compliance with healthcare quality and safety standards, and established processes and procedures. As part of the EVS Leadership team, the Manager plans, organizes, and directs custodial operations to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Manager leads staff to foster a professional environment by encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting autonomy and accountability, providing staff training and education, and emphasizing continuous learning and patient-centered care.
The Manager receives objectives and determines resource allocation to meet goals. They recommend policy changes and establish procedures affecting the department. They spend over 50% of their time achieving organizational objectives through staff coordination. They set departmental goals, operate with autonomy, and manage human, financial, and physical resources in line with organizational goals. They ensure compliance with internal controls and manage systems to protect departmental assets.
