Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital seeks a dedicated cleaner to prevent the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatus.

The role requires adherence to infection control guidelines, operation of cleaning equipment, and maintaining a sanitary environment across patient and non-patient areas. Evening shift, onsite at 151 Everett Avenue, 14 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience 0-1 year preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe application.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with organizational standards and infection control guidelines.
• Completes waste stream removal.
• Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout Medical Center departments and maintains a neat, sanitary environment.
• Operates cleaning equipment including floor machines and buffers.
• Participates in at least eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintains patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe condition at all times.
