BETA Group, Inc. is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern – Environmental Services to collaborate with civil engineers and environmental professionals on site investigation and remediation projects in New England.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology or related field.
• Understanding of general environmental assessment and response actions.
• Proficient with current technology (tablets, smartphones, laptops, etc.).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to conduct environmental field investigations (sampling, site inspections) and document field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Participate with field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling.
• Assist with data analysis and preparation of technical reports.
• Learn how to interpret environmental regulations and guidance documents.
• Participate in team meetings and project discussions.
• Gain exposure to client communication and project coordination.
• Learn how environmental regulations shape infrastructure and development projects.
• Apply classroom knowledge to real-world environmental challenges.
• Support active projects across design and construction phases.
• Contribute to project tasks and deliverables while developing new technical skills.
• Collaborate with and learn from experienced engineers, planners, and environmental staff.
• Take initiative in learning by asking thoughtful questions and engaging with the team.
