Job summary

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern – Environmental Services to support site investigation and remediation projects across New England. You will assist with field sampling, data collection, site assessments, and regulatory support under experienced supervision.

The role offers hands-on exposure to environmental regulations, health and safety practices, and real-world problem solving, with growth potential into a full-time position after graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology or related field.
• Understanding of general environmental assessment and response actions.
• Proficient in the use of current technology (tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to conduct field investigations and document field conditions per requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate with field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling.
• Assist with data analysis and preparation of technical reports.
• Learn to interpret environmental regulations and guidance documents.
• Participate in team meetings and project discussions.
• Gain exposure to client communication and project coordination.
• Contribute to project tasks and deliverables while developing new skills.
