Job summary

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Staff Scientist to join a diverse team delivering environmental investigation, remediation, redevelopment, and infrastructure projects throughout New England.

This role blends field and office work, offering mentorship as you develop skills in Phase I/II ESAs, MCP compliance, sampling, GIS mapping, and technical reporting while supporting project teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 1 to 5 years’ experience conducting environmental investigation/remediation.
• Familiarity with MCP compliance and phase I/II assessments.
• Proficient with GPS field instruments and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to perform fieldwork in varied weather and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Support site investigations and remediation projects under MCP/RIRE.
• Collect soil, groundwater, surface water samples and assist with reporting.
• Support environmental assessments, site inspections, and wetland delineations.
• Analyze field data, create GIS maps, and assist with regulatory submittals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and Licensed Site Professionals.
• Maintain accurate field documentation and project records.
