Job summary

Ko-Kwel Casino Resort on Oregon's southern coast invites applications for an Environmental Services Technician role. You will keep guest areas and back-of-house spaces pristine, safe, and inviting, supporting a welcoming experience for guests and team members alike.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, walls, restrooms, and common areas; reports of maintenance needs; and assisting with event setups. A team-oriented, detail-focused individual with strong communication fits best.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma preferred.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Previous work experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to accomplish work tasks by a given deadline.
• Ability to work with others to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to guests and other employees of the organization.
• Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Keep spaces safe, clean, and welcoming for guests and team members; report safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
• Clean and maintain all assigned areas including guest spaces, halls, restrooms, and common areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of departmental equipment and work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, vacuum, dust, and polish floors; clean carpets, draperies, and upholstery.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, and sills for a bright environment.
• Empty and clean waste containers and ashtrays; dispose and recycle properly.
• Transport trash to disposal or recycling areas; keep pathways clear.
• Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and work areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and departmental vehicles safely.
• Move small equipment and supplies between areas as needed.
• Assist in setting up tables, chairs, and furnishings for events.
• Report maintenance or repair needs promptly to Lead/Supervisor.
• Communicate status and progress to oncoming shift.
• Support team operations and adapt as needed.

What you bring to the table

• Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
• Cleans and maintains all assigned areas, including slot machines and chairs, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, corridors, public spaces, elevators, stairways, and locker areas.
• Keeps all departmental equipment and work areas clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, vacuums, dusts, and polishes floors; cleans carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, blinds, doors, and sills to maintain a bright and polished environment.
• Empties and cleans waste containers and ashtrays, ensuring proper disposal and recycling practices.
• Transports trash and waste to designated disposal or recycling areas, keeping pathways and work zones clear and safe.
• Replenishes supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and work areas to maintain readiness and guest satisfaction.
• Operates departmental vehicles and cleaning equipment-including vacuums, lifts, ladders, and extractors-safely and efficiently.
• Transports small equipment, tools, and supplies between departments or buildings as needed to support team operations.
• Assists in setting up tables, chairs, and other furnishings for meetings, banquets, or special events.
• Reports maintenance or repair needs promptly to a Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance personnel to ensure timely resolution.
• Communicates clearly with the oncoming shift to provide status updates, project progress, and any issues that need attention.
• Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)
